Dancing Bears

I have always wondered about the quality of the mini Indigenous Art Puzzles by CAP. I must confess that I don’t love the quality of the full size puzzles by them, they don’t really lay flat and the pieces are not all that unique, so you end up with a lot of misfits. I was pretty bummed about that, because I love the art work and learning more about indigenous artists.

I found this little puzz at the thrift store, and I thought, here’s my chance! They come in these sweet little tins and they are only 72 pieces. I opened this puzzle up right away and was very pleasantly surprised. Strong pieces, with a sure fit, a little on the larger side, and great colour saturation and no pixelation.

I actually had this image in the 1000 piece version once, my friend picked it up at a garage sale for me. I thought there would definitely be some tougher areas but that it should be a fairly straight forward puzzle. With all of those misfits though I couldn’t even enjoy putting together the “easy” parts!

I love these happy dancing bears and really wanted to like that puzzle but I packed it up and donated it.

So I was pretty happy to find this mini with the same artwork by artist Dawn Oman! I checked it was complete and the packed it up in a parcel for my friend who just moved to a new town in Manitoba. She also assembled it right away and said to me that she thinks she might like puzzles! I’m so happy to hear that, I’ll definitely be sharing some more with her, if that’s the case.

72 pieces, found at Value Village and complete.

If you are looking for a good souvenir present for someone, these mini puzzles are a great choice, support indigenous artists and a Canadian company.
