Well, it’s been about a month, but I assembled this puzzle for my birthday, Cakes by Galison. I found this one, not too long ago at the Mission Mart and I grabbed it. I’ve seen it online plenty and always loved the imagery, but being a tile format puzzle, I knew this would be such an easy puzzle, and I typically don’t buy easy puzzles brand new.

I just want to get a little ROI on my purchase, so I hold out and often find these at the thrift store.
It was fun! It really didn’t take me too long, as I expected but I loved putting it together. It was almost meditative and I was in the puzzling zone.

I am amazed that these are cakes, they’re so perfectly decorated. And so aesthetic, some lovely retro themes. My all time favourite has to be the one on the top right, with the flowers all over it, it looks like a vintage swim cap and I love it!

If we’re my birthday and I could choose one, that would be the winner, oh wait… it was my birthday! It was the first one that I put together, so gorgeous.

I actually didn’t have cake this year, I did take myself out for a birthday milkshake, and I had a meatball hero sub for dinner, but that was it. We had a friend to come and visit, over the weekend, my birthday twin, actually.
Joes birthday is three days after ours too, so we had plans, I would bake us a pecan pie, but Hurricane Lee paid a visit over the weekend and we didn’t have power to bake. Ha ha! So it was a bit anticlimactic on the pie front, but we had such a great time chatting in the low candlelight and eating our melted ice cream.

This little puzz was 500 pieces, manufactured by Galison and complete from the thrift store!
