The International German Fat Cat by Gale Pitt.
Is this a thing? Is there such a thing as an Oktoberfest Cat?

A quick Google search doesn’t show much – mostly just people drawing cats in Oktoberfest costumes, because we love to dress cats up in human clothes and imagine hilarious situations!

This is one of the more bizarre puzzle images that I’ve found, I don’t really understand why this was ever drawn, and then curated, and then published into a puzzle. But, this was the late 1990s, people were worried about Y2K issues and thought, well, if everything resets and we find ourselves back in the dark ages…. Let’s just go for it and make the puzz!

Fast forward to 2023, I was walking home from Dartmouth after a fun morning knitting and coffee date with a pal, when I decided to pop into the Salvation Army thrift store by the MacDonald Bridge. It’s not my favourite but I thought, hey… I’m here, I might as well pop in.
And then, I found the puzz, it was $2.99 and probably one of my best puzzle purchases to date.

I walked the rest of the way home and ten minutes after I got home, there was an absolute downpour! It was meant to be.
There are a lot of creepy aspects to this puzzle, the face of the person to the side of the cat, is that supposed to be Luther? I don’t know.

Then there’s the creepy mask on the other side of the kitty, it’s pretty unsettling. Never mind the fact that this cat is drinking a beer!

Well, this is a unique find, to say the least, and I’m loving it. This is a 500 piece vintage SunsOut puzzle from 1998, complete, in perfect shape and features the artwork of Gale Pitt.
