I’m sure that many folks have wondered if I’ve ever had a puzzle advent calendar, there are plenty out there made by almost every brand of puzzle makers.
Well, until this year, no I hadn’t never done one before. We found one at Winners this autumn and I’m pretty sure that it was a 2022 release, which is why they had it there. I’m sure I’ve seen each of these little cuties on Instagram before, but it didn’t spoil the surprise for me.
This is cat themed, so that was the first reason I thought I should give it a go, and I haven’t had an advent calendar of any kind since I was much younger, maybe, 15 or something was the last time I had one. It felt like time 🙂
I love to start my day with a small puzzle, I certainly don’t get to do that every day, but I have a nice little collection of mini puzzles and every once in a while, I do pull one out and put it together while I sip my morning coffee. It’s just a nice way to wake up, if you like puzzles of course!
I do plan to put the puzzles back into different boxes and do this again next year, by the time a year comes around, I’ll have completely forgotten all these goofy little faces and we’ll have a great time again!
I can’t decide which cat is my favourite, probably all the ones in the boxes, I’m actually surprised that there aren’t more box kitties, now that I think of it.
This is manufactured by Eurographics, the quality is pretty good, considering these are little mini puzzles. There aren’t any false fits, each puzzle is sealed in a ziploc bag which is a great choice for reuseability. My only gripe was that the puzzles are all cut of the exact same piece cut and the bottom right corner has a strange little variation in the pieces, so it’s very memorable and predictable.
If I were making these, I would have varied the cuts more from puzzle to puzzle. Maybe have four or five different cuts and stagger them through the whole collection?
Not the biggest issue, this was fun, seasonal, and cuuuuuute!
I think the one wearing the green scarf is my favourite, good colours and that cat is very cute 🙂
