Swing

Today’s little puzzle is called Swing. It’s a sweet little mini featuring artwork from an artist named Joe Giordano. In looking him up, he seems to have a large body of work. Especially from around the time that this little mini was made – 1976!

It looks like this was produced by a company called Western Publishing Company based in Racine, Wisconsin but then it also mentions Whitman Golden Limited from Cambridge, Ontario. So, were they in partnership? Did the Canadian company help import these to Canada?

I’m not really sure!

What I can say, is I do really love the image. It is such a 1970s image! The colours, the dreaminess, the woman’s outfit, it’s just so sweet. I also really love that it’s an autumn scene that feels almost summery, with the lovely pastels. I think that’s where the dreamy factor comes in, in my opinion.

Believe it or not, I saw this at the thrift store over a few visits, and opted (for some silly reason) not to buy it. I honestly could not tell you why.

Thankfully, it was still there on my next visit, so I bought it. I think I looked at it in more detail and realized how pretty it was. I was happy that I didn’t miss that opportunity.

This is a 221 piece mini puzzle from 1976, she is complete and in excellent vintage shape.
