We’re back on the 1980s kids nostalgia train! Cabbage Patch Kids (First created in 1978 by someone called Xavier Robert’s, and known as the Little People) were rebranded and renamed Cabbage Patch Kids in 1982.

I think I missed the Cabbage Patch craze in North America, they were the much sought after Christmas gift between 1983 and 1986, there was even a Cabbage Patch Kids riot!
We moved to Canada in 1985 and I was just about 3 years old, I may have been too young and my mom not quite embedded in North American culture just yet to have these dolls on her radar.

The dolls changed hands many times over the years being run by Hasbro, Mattel, Toy’s R Us Kids to name a few. I actually had no idea that they’re still on the market and going strong to this date. Obviously not as strong as being the hottest toy for three consecutive years, but I’m still impressed.

Here wer have some children fixing up their house, painting it on a beautiful summer day. I especially love the drawing of the cat, that has to be the cutest crude cat drawing I’ve seen in a while.

This puzz ale was released in 1983 by Parker brothers which has released some interesting puzzles over the years. I’ve done a few of their Star Wars puzzles from the 70s and early 80s as well as their collaboration puzzles with Time-LIFE.

60 pieces, full of nostalgia and complete. She’s a beauty!
