Imp-Possible

I hardly ever dislike a puzzle, but this one may actually make that list! Normally, I would just call it, pack it up, send it back to the thrift store and be done with it.

But.

But, this is in theory a very cool puzzle. It’s from 1984, by Hoyle, and the cut of the pieces is that unique rectangular puzzle with an oval puzzle cut inside! Maybe you remember High Seas Clipper from earlier this year? In that post, I mentioned that I had found another puzzle by Hoyle and that I was curious to know if the cut was the same.

Well, fast forward to the Halloween puzzle-along this year, I pulled this off the shelf, managed to get the border assembled, and I immediately pulled up a photo of High Seas Clipper to zoom in and check out that puzzle cut. It was identical!

I tried to assemble this for a short time without any help, but it sucked. I’m just gonna say it. I was aware that there was at least one piece missing (see the edge) and I just wasn’t in the mood to struggle. I got sick this past week, so I decided to take the easy way out and follow the piece cut in the photo. I honestly don’t think I would have gotten through this puzzle if I didn’t have a little cheat sheet! Cold or no cold, this was imp-possible!

Again, I could have just done a different puzzle, but I just wanted to find out how many pieces were missing and then get rid of it!

500 ish pieces, missing 6, and dirty, this was a dirty puzzle, contributing to my dislike of this puzz!
