Cows, Cows, Cows

We have another gifted thrifted from Joe! Sometimes I really like when Joe will pick out a puzzle for me at the thrift store. We tend to enjoy similar styles and themes but he won’t make a call on a puzzle based off of difficulty.

I do buy myself some pretty difficult puzzles, like I’ll almost always pick up an Escher puzzle, or an all black cat face for instance. But I would have looked at this, giggled at its silliness and put it back on the shelf because of the large amount of greyish sky.

He had gone thrifting when I was at work once, and when I came home, I saw this on the kitchen table. It’s absolutely hilarious, so thanked him and remarked that it will be hard, but that I loved it.

It was also a brand that I had heard good things about but hadn’t ever found at a thrift shop before. Lang Puzzles.

I’m not going to lie, this sat on the shelf for a while. I pulled it out recently and I was pleasantly surprised. It wasn’t all that challenging. I did slow down at the sky part, but it was smaller than I originally thought and the quality of this was pretty nice, so I wasn’t really worried about false fits.

This cow makes me think of going to the PNE in my teenage years with my friend Julia. We went to see Age of Electric which was her favourite band. When we were strolling around the fair grounds, we came into the livestock area and there was a giant cow. I feel like his name was Big Bill or maybe Big Bob? That was the biggest cow I’d ever seen!

So thanks to Joe for choosing a puzzle that is definitely my speed but one I likely wouldn’t have brought home myself. 1000 pieces and missing one.
