Jungle Kittens

Now this is a wildcat puzzle I can get behind! A vintage Warren Paper Products puzzle from the 70s featuring the art stylings of Gig Keane.

Not aware of Gig Keane? I definitely recommend looking up her biography and body of work. She was very well known for her portrait style paintings of people, kids, and animals with large eyes. As a matter of fact I have done another puzzle of her artwork from Milton Bradley. Remember Bucky?

This little tiger cub melted my heart the minute I saw it. It’s just too cute! I had also done only one other Warren Paper Products puzzle before, called Western Industry, it was very incomplete but I really enjoyed it and wanted to assemble another one from them.

I love this kitschy text and the safari guy in the corner. This is definitely something you would not come across today, especially on a kids puzzle! But the 60s and 70s were a totally different time, which is what I cover quite a bit in my post about Western Industry.

This brand is really interesting, the pieces are sturdy, but quite thin. They are also very geometric, almost crudely cut, with triangular nubs and slightly jagged edges. I’m not saying that it’s low quality, at all, the puzzle is great quality with a very interesting cut. I’m a fan!

Everything about this puzzle is amazing, great quality, adorable image and fabulous box design. Perfection!

500 pieces and complete!
