And we have another vintage Springbok Valentine’s Day themed puzzle! This was a score, I honestly could not believe my luck when I found this.

We went to a Salvation Army thrift store, that we actually don’t go to very often, but we went back because they had boxes of wooden hangers for seven bucks each (20 per box!). We had bought a box previously but we finally decided that we would go back and buy enough for the rest of our hangers needs. So, what I’m trying to say is, I would not have otherwise been at this thrift store, their selection of goodies is often pretty basic, so we don’t usually go.

I also almost missed this, because I haven’t seen this size of box before. This little mini is 150 pieces, and most of the springbok minis I’ve found have been 70 pieces. So this box was a little larger than the usual minis.

But, on my second scan of their puzzles collection, I spotted it! And wow, was I ever excited. A shaped springbok mini, these date back to 1981, a year before I was born! This is super special, and I loved putting this sweetie puzzle together.

It was a tricky one too, I got all the red bits together but the brown chocolates took a little bit of extra attention. I cannot tell you how thrilled I was when I placed that last piece and confirmed that it was a complete puzzle, that is just the best feeling ever!

I also love all the details on the box, this cursive text on the sides, the poem on the back, even the chocolate that says that I’m a sweetie, is foil. You can tell that this is still quality springbok era, all those extras just make the puzzle so special.

It’s always hard to capture on camera, but this heart was foil paper too. This puzzle is definitely a sweet one!
150 pieces, complete and 43 years old.
