I must say the title feels a bit off – Mother’s Spring Planting – something about it feels a bit creepy! I think that simply Spring Planting or Blooming Spring would have done just fine. Am I making sense? Let me know what you all think!

Regardless of the title, I just though this looked like a fun time, there are colourful flowers, a little bit of text, illustrated flowers, I was into it. I’m basically also at the stage that I pick up nearly every vintage Springbok puzzle I find at the thrift stores.
I draw the line with newer Springboks (unless I am in love with the image, naturally) and images that feel too wholesome or maybe have religious undertones (‘m not a person of faith, so I don’t connect with those styles personally, but I want to be clear that I’m not against them or anything).

But I love these collages, or scattered item style images, they are just so fun!
I recently went out on a thrift adventure with my friends Sydney and Aaron and I think they laughed at me for picking up about 6 vintage puzzles that day! Joe is used to that, but my friends are starting to see the real thrifting me 🙂

But you gotta get them when you find them, you know? Otherwise they’ll get scooped up by someone else, or even worse maybe tossed out by the thrift store? I don’t really know what the system is at these places, and it hurts to think of a vintage Springbok being thrown away!

As you can see this is a 500 piece puzzle from the Puzzle PLUS series in 1992, the original release came with a packet of seeds, which would be hilarious if they were still inside the box.

I wonder if the original owner of this puzzle ever panted the flowers? Wouldn’t be amazing if they did and they grew back every year?
