Antique Dolls

This charming little puzzle image is one from a set of four 300 piece puzzles created for Waddington’s by Barbara Brand that features antique dolls. Each puzzle from the series have the reference number 512 and are listed in the Spring 1975 Waddington’s catalogue.

The boxes have a full picture on the lid and a then a detailed description of the dolls and their portrayals in four languages on the back. See below πŸ™‚

I think it’s pretty neat that there are four languages on the box, each side of the box also has the title and specifications in each language as well. I hope you can read the write up in the picture, I like how they talk about the features that these dolls had and the fact that they are “exquisitely dressed.”

I chose this for the week of Halloween because these dolls have such vacant stares, they remind me of the mask that Michael Myers wears in the Halloween movies. Two very different vibes but similar expressions!

Not quite as murderous, I’ll give her that.

This 300 piece Waddington’s puzzle from 1975 is complete and was such a fun and quick afternoon assemble.

Here’s Otto my little October loving cat posing with this wonderful little gem.
