Last year at the vintage market, my booth neighbours, East Coast Toys and Games, they are a couple that specialize in vintage comics and toys. You can find them online, in case you are into comics and pop culture related toys.
They had this puzzle set aside for me, I guess they had it in their stock for a long time and no one was picking it up, so they wanted to see if I was interested in it. Now, I’ll be the first to admit that I wasn’t interested for the fact that it was a Superman puzzle. I was interested because it was a vintage American Publishing Corp 200 piece puzzle from 1973, and the bonus was the dinosaur, of course.
This is an absolutely terrifying dinosaur! The teeth are so long and sharp, and those claws? Intense! Here’s a close up of those teeth, Superman must be shaking in his unitard.
This puzzle was a quick one, naturally, it’s only 200 pieces but I love a vintage American Publishing puzzle, they have a slightly random cut, the pieces fit together smoothly albeit a little loose. But this is not a puzzle that you’d need to move chunks around, so the looser fit isn’t an issue.
Man, I just love this logo, it is fabulous! This scary Superman puzzle is complete and in perfect condition.
