Gee, Ma, It’s a Jukebox!

I love a bizarre concept for a puzzle. Something that just feels so out of the ordinary that it is so unique, very cool and totally original. Such as a multi-puzzle from Springbok of a Jukebox. Like why not?

So this set is of two 350 piece puzzles. One is a pixelated photograph of a Wurlitzer jukebox, and the second is a clear photograph of the same Wurlitzer jukebox.

Now, I guess I find this so weird mostly thanks to the title of the puzzle, the “Gee, Ma” part of the title to be specific. I guess that the Springbok team was trying to make a call back to the 50’s? That’s all I could think of, unless it is referencing some pop culture moment that I just am not familiar with. A show? A movie? I’m really not sure!

This multi-puzzle dates back to 1985, the concept reminds me a lot of Pixel Perfect – A Computer Generated Jigsaw Puzzle Design from 1988. I love imagining how novel the use of technology must have been to the Springbok team at the time. I wonder if they could have ever guessed how far it would have gotten in the future. Cue terrible AI generated puzzle images…. grooooan.

Yet another reason why I choose vintage puzzles over all others!
