A Visit From St. Nicholas

Merry Christmas! Ha ha, kidding…. catching up on my blogging here.

I worked on this Santa puzzle over Christmas this year, it’s a Springbok from the late 90s, 1998 to be exact. I fell in love with the blues and purples in this picture when I saw it at the thrift store, I had to pick it up. The box was super dusty and looking pretty sad at the thrift store, but after I cleaned it up, boy did it shine!

I have to say that Santa does look a little creepy, but I do find the whole concept of this guy a little creepy, multiple break-ins in one night? I do think his blank facial expression is well-suited!

This wasn’t a super easy puzzle, but I’ll also say that it wasn’t super difficult either. It was just a really nice easy-paced kind of puzzle to assemble over my holiday this year. One aspect I didn’t love, is how snug the pieces fit together, I do hate that super stiff piece fit from the late 90s of Springbok. Strangely not all puzzles from that time have this fit, so I really don’t know how to explain this phenomenon.

Oh well, I finished it, and I did really love the colours of it, so in my opinion it was worth the struggle. This was a complete 1000 piecer and I worked on it over a couple of days.
