Guarding Dragon

A couple weeks ago, Joe and I went thrifting quickly while we were running some errands in the Chain Lake area of Halifax. Basically if we go to Costco, my reward to myself for not melting down in Costco is going to the thrift store. I found a couple of neat vintage puzzles, which will no doubt be featured soon enough, but I also came across a small piece count Unidragon puzzle.

I’m not really “into” dragons, I never think about them, I don’t read fantasy literature that feature dragons, or watch fantasy movies and shows, I’m not into them. I don’t not like them, I just don’t ever think about them.

But I am into a Unidragon wooden puzzle. They’re always fun and I like the bright colours, so if it’s a dragon, who cares? I’ll buy it!

Naturally, this one had me thinking about Smaug and the Hobbit. I think that is the only book that I’ve ever read that had a dragon in it. There you go, it’s not totally outrageous for me to buy a dragon puzzle.

I liked the mythical and medieval themes to the pieces and the piece cut, I felt it was very fitting! I remembered to flip the puzzle over this time around to photograph the back, so you can get an idea of the lovely detail to the piece cut. I especially like how the piece web out from the spider shaped piece.

This little guy is just over 100 pieces, it’s complete and I’ll be passing this on to another puzzler out there.

This vintage Jaymar Five Clawed Dragon is more up my alley in terms of a dragon puzzle.
