When I was a kid, my parents used to get the National Geographic Magazines and I have memories of this exact cover. This was before Jurassic Park came out but I was already keen on dinosaurs and I was really excited to look inside this issue.

I often think about what it must have been like to have unearthed fossils before they were commonly known of. Whether it be a dinosaur or Mammoth, it must have been so shocking and exciting to find the remnants of these gigantic animals! Would they have been scared or confused, excited?

This is a 1000 piece puzzle, I believe released by National Geographic itself. The quality felt similar to Ceaco (from the 90s) thin pieces but not flimsy or fragile. A solid fit with unique enough piece shapes. It was pretty decent quality. I was pretty happy about that, because this was kind of a tough puzzle. I was happy to puzzle the text, titles and border and after I pulled out all the glowing reddish orange pieces, the rest was tricky!

This copy was missing pieces so I will be donating it back to the thrift store for another dinosaur enthusiast to work on.
