A Somerville Game product, from a series called the Artist series.
I have no idea when this puzzle was manufactured, if I were to guess, the 1950’s-1960’s. The logo on the front of the box seems to date back to this time. I love the box, the frame around the painting of this majestic tall ship, is the perfect touch. This puzzle is technically complete, though a corner of a piece was torn off and lost. Here is a photo of the box.
I love to thrift, finding treasures that people have thrown away. The challenge and the quiet time focusing on assembling jigsaw puzzle pieces into a final image has interested and excited me for as long as I can remember. A few years ago I noticed that thrift stores always have a fully stocked "puzzles and games" section. Finally an endless supply of new puzzles to solve and a reason to keep thrifting!
