Dreamland

What a fabulous find! Hattie Stewart, is a self proclaimed “professional doodler” based in London, England.

I’d seen this puzzle around online on Instagram, and absolutely loved the aesthetic. I guess that the title, Dreamland, is perfectly suited. It’s surreal, zany, and hyper detailed and colourful.

I do love the vintage cartoony aspect to all the characters, it reminds me so much of vintage Mickey drawings. Last week, on Instagram, we had a Cartoon Puzzle along, which at first, I thought… I don’t think I have any suitable puzzles, but then remembered this one (and several others) that would fit the theme perfectly!

I loved putting this together, it was pretty quick, because it is nicely divided into sections throughout this very busy picture, which made for good puzzle flow.

This is certainly a colourful dream, and it brings up the question, do you dream in colour? I actually couldn’t say if I do, I rarely remember my dreams, and I’m not sure if my memories insert colour into what I do retain, or if I actually dreamt in colour.

I’d love to hear from you, readers, if you think you dream in colour.

This puzzle is missing one piece, but the image is so busy, it’s tough to spot it! The manufacturer is Potter Puzzles, which I think I had only assembled one of their puzzles before, the bird puzzle that was missing so many pieces! They reminded me of a mix between Areaware and Galison puzzles, I quite enjoyed the quality, and in this instance the paper backing to the pieces did not dampen the experience.
