A Christmas Memory Tree

This past weekend, Joe and I went to see the new Godzilla movie, and first off, it was really good. I personally haven’t seen any of the movies in the past, but this one was so highly recommended that I thought I should check it out with Joe. It was created by the same studio that made the original Japanese Godzilla movie, and wow, it was great!

All movie recommendations aside, the movie theatre is conveniently close to two of our favourite thrift stores, so naturally we made a day out of it. I found some very cool and fun vintage puzzles, that I am pretty darn excited to do soon, and I found a classic Springbok shaped Christmas puzzle. It was moved to the front of the to do list, it’s called A Christmas Memory Tree.

That’s right friends, it’s another Christmas tree puzzle, this one is shaped like a Christmas tree and has a collage of ornaments, cards, Santas, ribbons and boughs, it’s actually very reminiscent of the Christmas Reverie Springbok from earlier this month, but in tree shape.

The colours were honestly a little dark, and true to the 1990s Springbok puzzles, the fit is super snug, that the edges of the tree kind curl up. But nonetheless, I had to do this shaped puzzle. Remember O, Christmas Wreath? I personally feel that one is more successful, but I still enjoyed this one too.

I especially enjoyed the two teddy bears at the top of the tree, forget the angels and the stars, it’s all teddy bears from here on out.

This lovely little 500 piecer was made by the master of kitschy puzzles, Springbok of course, back in 1993 and it is a complete copy! We’re getting pretty close to Christmas now, only a few more days. what are you doing to celebrate? I think I’ll do a puzzle and hang out with my boys 🙂
