Happy New Year everyone! I do have to say that I did not party as hard as these animals did last night, this is one classy party.

I knocked another vintage Springbok puzzle off of my thrifted puzzle wish list, I just love when that happens. I found Party Animals at the thrift store a while back, maybe in the summer? New Year’s Eve felt like the appropriate occasion to assemble this raucous ride of a puzzle.

There is wonderful animal representation in this image, I just love it! We’ve got a panda, a puffin, a bass, armadillo, turtle, zebra, badgers, hippopotamus, the list goes on. Surprisingly there is no elephant or giraffe, maybe they’re just too big?

We do have one human waiter in this, they look nervous, is it the animals or is it concentration trying not to drop that tray in the middle of a wild party? I do love the Animal Farm themes and feels in this picture too. It’s funny, a little scary, a little eerie all with a good dose of early 1980s fashion.

This puzzle came out the year that I was born, 1982! This is a Springbok release, over 500 pieces, complete with the original proof of purchase and sheet catalogues inside the box. Mint!

I do hope that you rang in the New Year exactly as you wished, Joe and I had pasta, we watched a couple movies and cuddled the boys, saying goodnight at 11:45. May this year bring more thrifting and and amazing puzzle finds to share on thepuzzlesivedone.
