My parents were recently in town for a visit, so we booked a couple small little getaways over their trip. The first was to Charlottetown, PEI. Neither Joe or I had been just yet, so we naturally were looking forward to seeing a few sights.
And yes, we certainly did visit during the winter! It was cold, a touch snowy and not surprisingly quite windy! I’m looking forward to seeing PEI in the warmer months, when you could swim at the beaches, or stroll through the green hills, and Joe could eat all the oysters he wants.

We stayed in the sweetest little house near downtown Charlottetown, which was actually my dream house. I don’t really want to own a house but if I did, I would look for something like the place we stayed in.
This place was so well stocked! The kitchen had just about everything you’d ever need, including Tupperware to pack a snack. It’s the little details 🙂
And, they had a puzzle!

A pretty cool puzzle too, if you ask me. It was called Out of This World, 500 pieces, made by Galison, and it was pretty new. If I had to guess, it had only been put together once, or maybe twice?

I don’t know if you can tell from these photos, but this was a random cut puzzle with matte pieces. From Galison? Is this a new development, I wonder? Or perhaps they sell just a few in their random cut. Either way, I liked it. The pieces had a cardboard back instead of their classic paper, and they didn’t have that plastic feel to them like they usually do. Which in turn, didn’t make my fingers feel weird, like I needed to wash my hands after handling them for a while.

The fit was a little looser than usual but I’d have to say, I didn’t mind. There were a lot of improvements from the standard paper backed pieces, in my opinion.
The artist’s name is Ben Giles and I really enjoy this type of collage artwork. Plus it’s space themed, so a win.
Best Airbnb ever!
i didn’t know Galison uses random cut..
for me it’s good news: the more random cuts the better:))
