Air

I love collage art like this, a collection of tiny found objects, or mini art projects and dioramas all laid out in a visually interesting and pleasing way. This one is themed on air – taking flight, floating, kites, butterflies, you name it.

This is a collage work by the artist Shelley Davies whose style you might remember from this wonderful rainbow 2000 piecer from a couple years ago.

This is released by Cobble Hill, they clearly have a good relationship with Shelley Davies, there are the rainbow puzzles both in 1000 and 2000 piece format, then there is a puzzle dedicated entirely to each colour in the rainbow as well as black and white.

Then she has made a collage for each the 4 elements, of which this is one. And a cats image, dogs, the alphabet, vintage toys, dolls, time pieces, the list goes on and on. There are enough of these to fill a room, and I love them.

I see these at the thrift store often enough and sometimes, I feel like it’s the right time to take one home with me. They are always fun, searching for those little details and noticing patterns in her work, the time will fly as you put these puzzles together.

I also always really enjoy a Cobble Hill puzzle, there is a slight random cut to their puzzles and the quality is just really nice. I also love a lot of their image curation, they work with really cool artists like Shelley Davies, and their quilt pattern images are always gorgeous. I also love that they make a good number of traditional style images, that are so well done and really beautiful. Such as this one – The Good Life.

I have one that Cobble Hill sent to me about 2 years ago that I still haven’t cracked into, maybe I should pull that one out soon!

This is 1000 pieces and the puzzle was in brand new condition, another thrifty win!
