Lustigt

Well, well, well, well, well, well! What do we have here? An absolutely zany illustrated puzzle from the IKEA team.

Am I impressed? Very, actually!

I think that IKEA jumped on the puzzle bandwagon during the height of the pandemic in 2020 or maybe it was even 2021. I was curious at the time, but there wasn’t one close enough to us to go and pick one up. It’s not like we were going out much back then anyway.

I think they released two puzzles, and that they haven’t made anymore since. I find this particular one at the thrift store often enough, these days. I haven’t found the other one, maybe there never was a second puzzle design and I made it all up! Does anyone remember?

This puzzle is awesome! I was actually so impressed by the quality of it. It’s the kind of puzzle that is usually branded a “family puzzle” from brands like Springbok or Cobble Hill. Big pieces for those that don’t do too many puzzles, medium for the intermediates and smaller for those advanced puzzlers out there.

I had so much fun with this, it’s a smaller piece count, so I just put it together one afternoon and it was completed before I knew it. There are a bunch of wacky characters and details which was just so fun to piece together and see what they were up to and how the whole image came together.

I’ve decided to hang onto it for a little while, I may want to do it again in the future, I felt like it went by a too quickly, and I think that Joe would have fun putting it together too.

For the entire thing being a strange shape, and IKEA not being a puzzle brand, I was really impressed that the whole thing stayed together, had zero false fits, and no piece damage. That’s a win for IKEA!

I actually watch a YouTuber, who talks about interior design and sometimes he’ll release videos highlighting the little gems to be found at stores like IKEA or Homesense, etc. and I think he should add this puzzle to the list. Maybe I should write him 🙂

211 pieces, found at Value Village and complete.

  1. Hello! I found your blog while my partner and I were working on a puzzle (and I was doing research on a Springbok) and we love it and your posts. Great format, fun to read. Keep up the great work!
