Wooden Puzzle – No Picture to See What It Is!

Only at a thrift store will you find someone’s handcut wooden jigsaw puzzle in a nondescript golden box. I came across this box at the Mission Mart a while ago and when I saw this message on the box, I knew this was a special find. I took a quick look inside and saw that the pieces were made of plywood and the image had a smooth finish. It looked well done but not like it was mass manufactured, I really think this may have been someone’s home project!

Now, you know me…. there will be spoilers here. This was a mystery but by the end of this post you will see what the image was.

There were even specialty shaped pieces included in this puzzle! They were really nice and detailed too, there was a mix of animals and objects, think umbrellas, cats, apples and more!

I could already tell that I was going to have some kind of pastoral landscape scene, as a matter of fact I was reminded of Cottage by a River from years ago as I was assembling this. The composition is nearly identical. I do have to say that I preferred this puzzle though, the chickens are a really nice touch.

I am really glad I picked this up and decided to bring it home with me, Joe convinced me to buy it, to be honest I was on the fence. But, as is usually the case, Joe has a very good sense about the special puzzles. My puzzle purchase guide!

I don’t know how many pieces this puzzle actually has, but my guess is around 450-500, and it was complete! I hope whoever made this made more puzzles for friends and family, this was really fun!
