A Peaceful Night’s Sleep

Don’t we all just want a peaceful night’s sleep? These gorgeous big cat babies know how to sleep! It appears they’re astral projecting in their dreams, being cradled by the universe. Sounds delightful!

You may recognize this artwork, and I’m sure you’re wondering if I have become something of a collector? The answer is yes, I LOVE Schim Schimmel art puzzles from Milton Bradley in the late 90s and early 2000s that I have been picking them up from the thrift store for my collection. See also Mystery Schim Schimmel, and Schimmel (the one that started it all!)

These are some of my absolute favourite puzzles! Even in the box they are perfection. We have rock and roll text, giving the sense that this artist is a rockstar for nature drawings. And in my humble opinion, he is!

Then we have the artist himself, basically looking like Fabio in his headshot.

My favourite quote in his bio sheet here is “if we are to save ourselves and this magnificent home we are so utterly dependent upon, we need to become a global society, awake and aware, and willing to work together in a new atmosphere of love, responsibility and higher consciousness”.

These sweet sleeping babies are just beautiful. I cannot express how much I love his work, there is such detail, and his love for nature and the planet is just so clear. As a cat lover myself, obviously his chosen subjects just speak to me, but he’s not all cats. Of course I found a wolf pup image in my mystery Schimmel puzzle. I have also found one with a dolphin and another one that is more of a safari collection of animals.

I am missing one piece, sadly. To this date, I have yet to have a complete Schimmel puzzle, but I do have four more in my growing collection, so fingers crossed for one of them!

This one is a 700 piecer from Milton Bradley in 2002, it even still has it’s Zeller’s price sticker on the cover! A true throw back 🙂
