We all know that I love a nature puzzle, so it should not be a surprise to see a puzzle like this on my blog. This puzzle image looks to have been one of about a dozen from a whole series called Animal Awareness Ltd. Or perhaps that was the brand name?
Either way, I just thought this was the coolest image for a puzzle. Lots of patterns and different colours, and the illustration is just incredible! I also didn’t think it was going to be a very challenging puzzle, ha ha ha! I laugh, because I was mistaken!
This turned out to be much harder than I expected, I must have worked on this over about 3 or 4 days, and it was tricky almost right until the very end, which isn’t necessarily always the case with a difficult puzzle. I was missing a fair amount of border pieces, so I basically assumed that I must be missing a whole bunch of pieces from the centre of the puzzle.
By the end of the puzzle, I was shocked to discover that the only missing pieces were in the border! Hilarious.
This puzzle was made in St Alban’s, UK, which felt very familiar to me. Going through my puzzle archive, I was certain that I had completed a puzzle before that was made in St. Alban’s and I found it! Rainforest from our smoky trip to Salt Spring Island in 2020. That was branded Alban, which this one is not, but they must have been made in the same factory, because the piece cut felt nearly the same as Rainforest, and how many puzzle factories can one town in the UK have??
There was a cool product sheet inside the very mildewy box that showed all the images that were available from 1995, I have to say that I like the fish one best, so lucky me!
