I have been on a bit of a puzzling kick lately, I think it might have to do with my growing pile of puzzles that I have acquired and not put together yet. This was found not all that long ago, maybe a month or so back, but curiosity got the the best of me and it jumped the line!

So this is a concept from the Great American Puzzle Factory, released in the early 90s. Hopefully you can read the text on the photo of the box above, but there are over 650 “edge” pieces, over 300 middle or centre pieces and 16 corner pieces! 1000 total. Essentially the pieces come together to make three rectangular frames and one centre rectangle.

I think this cut was meant to be aggravatingly challenging, but I found it really fun. It had me thinking outside the usual puzzle connections which I think is a really good workout for the brain. I loved this variation on a puzzle and maybe I’ll find more of these in the future. I can hope!

I do know that my childhood puzzle – Penguins at the Beach – was released as an Experience the Edge puzzle, so I do hope that I will find that particular one someday. This particular puzzle was released in 1992 and the art is stunning, I loved it.

As you can see above, the artist’s name is Ann Vaughn, this seems to have been created in 1989.
This puzzle was missing three pieces, which surprisingly didn’t make this much harder than the intended challenge 🙂
Yet another interesting puzzle concept I hadn’t seen before! Interior edge pieces usually drive me crazy, though.
