Could there be a more perfect vintage autumnal puzzle image? I feel in love with this image the moment I saw it on the thrift store shelves. The colour palette is perfection, am I silly for saying I want to sit with these pumpkins for a few minutes?

On a chilly evening last week, this felt like the perfect puzzle to assemble to celebrate the autumn season, Joe was busy, the boys were by my side snoozing on their favourite wool blanket and I was fully engrossed in this puzzle! It was a little tricky in the grassy leafy area but the colours were so rich and the different textures made this such a fun puzzle to assemble.

This is that era of Whitman Guild puzzles that is just so good. The pieces are on the sturdy thick side and the fit is so smooth and satisfying. These old landscape style puzzles are a very well kept secret, I don’t see too many people talking about these, online. If I spot one, I will grab it, no question.

On top of the wonderful quality and great images, I love their box graphics. The layout and colour choices are nostalgic and I just love this attention to detail. I know that some contemporary puzzle companies do pay the same attention to their graphic design and I do appreciate that, but there’s something about these older boxes that can not be recreated.

I’m happy that this puzzle got a little bit of love and attention here at thepuzzlesivedone, this 500 piecer is missing one piece but I enjoyed this very much! Happy Fall everyone!
