Aldabra – Coral Island

This gorgeous 1000 piece puzzle by James Hamilton was such a score! I can’t believe it, but I almost didn’t buy it from the thrift shop. I found it at the VGH thrift shop along with another James Hamilton puzzle that I blogged a few months ago.

The pieces are strong and have a glossy finish, the fit isn’t super strong but in this case, it doesn’t really bother me. I was so impressed at how this came together, the pieces looked so abstract and it was challenging to guess where they might belong, but what amazing clarity once it was assembled! 1000 pieces and complete!

I love to thrift, finding treasures that people have thrown away. The challenge and the quiet time focusing on assembling jigsaw puzzle pieces into a final image has interested and excited me for as long as I can remember. A few years ago I noticed that thrift stores always have a fully stocked "puzzles and games" section. Finally an endless supply of new puzzles to solve and a reason to keep thrifting!
