Crazy Quilt

American Publishing Corporation – this vintage puzzle featuring a very unattractive quilt, had to come home with me.

I am always a fan of textile art, it is my favourite medium for sure. This one is not quite my favourite, but I think I’ve featured about three other quilted scene puzzles on this blog that I felt that I had to show off this one too!

I am very impressed at the stitching on this, it must have been done by hand and it’s so ornate! I suppose this is just a big pile of leftovers and the person made a piecework blanket?

This puzzle dates back 1983 and has one piece missing along the edge. I took it back to thrift store this afternoon for another puzzler to try out.

I love to thrift, finding treasures that people have thrown away. The challenge and the quiet time focusing on assembling jigsaw puzzle pieces into a final image has interested and excited me for as long as I can remember. A few years ago I noticed that thrift stores always have a fully stocked "puzzles and games" section. Finally an endless supply of new puzzles to solve and a reason to keep thrifting!
