Cactus Garden

Readers may remember that back in early 2022, Cobble Hill sent me three puzzles to feature on my blog. I chose three puzzles that I thought would be both fun and difficult. Art Nouveau Tiles, Owl Magic and finally this one, Cactus Garden by artist Barbara Behr.

I sure waited a while to assemble this, I think it was the earliest acquired puzzle in my shelf that had yet to be completed. Does that make sense? What took me so long?

Well, I think that I was just a little bit intimidated. It’s very detailed and I thought it would be more difficult than fun. It was a difficult one to do, yes, but not as fun? No, it was fun, of course!

I did end up passing this on to a new owner, I realized that I likely wasn’t going to do it a second time, but that doesn’t mean that I didn’t enjoy it. it was really engaging, tough but not wildly difficult. Each cactus had a distinct look, and all the colourful diving birds helped for assembly too.

I think that it took a while simply because of the amount of fine detail, it’s just a busy image.

But so gorgeous! Barbara Behr is one talented artist, responsible for Art Nouveau Tiles and Butterfly Garden, I do like her style.

Gifted to me from Cobble Hill, 1000 pieces and complete.
