A stunning Vintage Springbok puzzle from 1970, entitled Spectral. Back in the late 1960’s and early 70’s Springbok showcased a lot of contemporary artists’ work. Spectral is a work by American artist John Willenbecher. He created a lot of sculptures using mostly glass, metal and wood but his prints were all inspired by his three dimensional sculptures. This puzzle was found at Value Village in Vancouver and is complete.
I love to thrift, finding treasures that people have thrown away. The challenge and the quiet time focusing on assembling jigsaw puzzle pieces into a final image has interested and excited me for as long as I can remember. A few years ago I noticed that thrift stores always have a fully stocked "puzzles and games" section. Finally an endless supply of new puzzles to solve and a reason to keep thrifting!
