Another puzzle that I’ve been waiting on, I think I just avoided this one because I was aware that this would be a challenge and on the puzzle board for a few days. All true, but when this was completed, I was so happy with the final picture, it is such a gorgeous puzzle!

You may be able to tell that this is a Pomegranate Puzzle, they have released a few different Charley Harper puzzles over the years and this one is probably one of the more beautiful ones that I’ve completed. You may remember my very first one Glacier Bay, Alaska, then there was The Rocky Mountains, and who could forget Tree Of Life. They are all classics, obviously, but I like the simplicity of this one, it’s really lovely.

There’s a Charley Harper quote on the back of the box that is the inspiration for this painting, I guess.
“For centuries, the neotropical migrants in this picture have shuffled between winter homes in the tropical rainforest and nesting sites in our woodlands. Now their populations are plummeting. Why? Habitat destruction down there? Up here? Is your favourite songster in this flock? Each April, I listen anxiously to the dawn chorus for the return of my favourite, that world class flautist, the Wood Thrush. Are silent Springs forthcoming? Remember the canary in the coal mine?“

I couldn’t really say with any confidence if the flocks are not migrating as often or in such numbers, but this piece was made all the way back in the 90s. So I imagine there must be quite the difference. Although I will say it was such a nice thing to wake up to the birds calling to each other at the start of Spring. The cats are waking up earlier as a result though!

Definitely a stunning puzzle, definitely tough once I was left with only blue pieces, definitely worth it though. 1000 pieces from Pomegranate ArtPiece Puzzles and complete.
