Frogs of the Tropical Rainforest

When I was in grade 3 or 4, I had a very cool t-shirt, I think we may have gotten it from the Vancouver Aquarium or possibly a zoo somewhere. It was a plain white t-shirt with different colourful frogs printed all over it. I loved that shirt so very much, I wish I could find a version of it now!

This vintage James Hamilton puzzle had me thinking about that shirt and how cool I knew it was at the time. This puzzle definitely has a different background, but the energy is the same. Especially in the bottom righthand corner of the image, picture these colourful probably more poisonous frogs all over a white background. Peak fashion.

If you’ve been a loyal reader of this blog and puzzle archive, you may already be aware that I absolutely love these James Hamilton nature puzzles. It has been a while since I have completed a James Hamilton. The last one I assembled was Flying Rainbows from February 2022! I’ve only ever found and blogged about 4 from this brand in the past, see all of them here. Just now, I tried picking a favourite, but they honestly were all so cool for different reasons. I do love the wild cats one and I remember really enjoying Heathland and Moorland. But again, I love them all.

I really enjoyed this one, and I could tell that the previous owner had as well! The pieces were a little beaten up and the box has definitely seen some better days, but the puzzle is complete, and I really enjoyed doing a 500 piecer from James Hamilton. I have recently found another one from the brand, that one is 1500 pieces, a bit more of a time commitment, but I know that I’ll really enjoy it 🙂

I think the frog hiding under the leaf was my favourite sneaky little one.

As I said previously, this was a complete thrifted puzzle from James Hamilton in the late 90s and it was sooo much fun!
