Cryptic Maze

I think we can all agree that the early nineties was an excellent time for any Great American Puzzle Factory fan. Amazing images and piece quality, fun concepts like Experience the Edge, and the Puzzle within a Puzzle series. I recently found a kids Puzzle within a Puzzle, 100 pieces and of a haunted house! How fun!

Naturally this was not a tough puzzle but I just love the concept and the illustration style of these ones, this particular one has some very strong Edward Gorey themes, which just feels perfect for the week leading up to Halloween.

So basically, there are some kids trapped in the basement of this spooky mansion and you have to assemble the puzzle and find a route through the house to get out. Along the way, there are some hidden letters you will find that will spell out a message, this message might just explain why the ghosts are so spooked!

I’ll show the answer card below, if you have this puzzle and haven’t yet solved the mystery and don’t want a spoiler, do not scroll any further! You have been warned! Ha ha ha

Wow, spooky stuff!

I really enjoyed this puzzle, I know that it was easy but I like that the challenge wasn’t super obvious. I think sometimes when things are marketed to children, they make it too easy. And kids are smart, this was a good challenge level for the children of 1991.

100 pieces, complete and in brand new condition!
